What this internship is
This is a paid, virtual internship focused on real client work. You’ll contribute to website builds, edits, and updates across platforms like WordPress and Squarespace. Work is task-based, so you can choose assignments from a shared board and complete them on your own schedule. You’ll gain practical experience with layout, content structure, and basic SEO, along with feedback to help you improve. This is not a classroom-style program; it’s designed for learning by doing.
- Open to: Actively enrolled undergraduate students attending a Virginia college or university. Rising high school seniors are eligible to apply for the summer cycle if they will be attending a Virginia college or university that fall.
- Pay: starts at $20 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
- Schedule and Hours: Each cycle spans 8 weeks and interns will work for a minimum of 120 hours.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need prior website building experience to apply. Coding, graphic design, or general digital skills are helpful but not required. The most important qualities are attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently. You should be comfortable learning new tools, following clear instructions, and completing tasks without constant oversight. This is a good fit for someone early in their experience who wants real project exposure and is willing to figure things out as they go.
